In part 2 of this extraordinary evening in the “Barossa Boardroom” – the kitchen of Barossa Legends Peter and Margaret Lehmann, Peter shares first hand the famous story of how the Barossa was saved from multi-national corporate ruin. (part 2 of 2)
In this episode, Andre and JD are into the “Barossa Boardroom” – the kitchen of Barossa Legends Peter and Margaret Lehmann, for a drink and a chat about wine, the war, cu-ee salad and their famous battle to save the Barossa (part 1 of 2)
Day 2 in the Barossa, and the Qwoff boys are invited to a very special day of at Langmeil, home of the oldest Shiraz vines in the world. And a drink with a not-so-old bastard at Kaesler shows them what old vine Barossa Shiraz is all about.
The Qwoff boys jump back in the kombi with their tour guide, Yappy, as their Barossa adventure continues. Barossan artisans, Shiraz-drinking pigs, 1kg T-bones…special stuff!
The Qwoff boys head north on their great wine adventure to one of Australia’s iconic wine regions – the Barossa Valley, where Justin takes Andre to Rusden – the Rockfords of tomorrow – to meet some old mates, and try some incredible Shiraz.
Two scruffy winelovers, a VW kombi, 35,000 miles and some bloody good wine.
This planet is a big, beautiful ball, with some pretty amazing places, and some pretty amazing vino.
We were talking one day (we being the qwoff boys - Andre & Justin) about all the wine regions in the world - and the people and the wines and the culture that are the heartbeat of these places, and how cool it would be to just travel the world and taste these wines and meet some of these great people - what an adventure that would be.
And so we did.
We bought an old '74 kombi camper, filled her up with petrol, grabbed a camera and set off on what would be the wine adventure of a lifetime.
